Up to this point, I was the proud owner of a very old home and a hill with woods. The county said that since it wasn't large enough to split between my sister and me, she gave it to me since she wouldn't be able to built on it. Stupid laws and regulations.
Unfortunately (again), according to county rules and regulations, I am not allowed to legally have two houses on one piece of land. I wasn't going to knock down the house my dad grew up in, and so I was left with a slight problem. A $14,000 problem. The $14,000 problem is known as an Impact Fee.
This Impact Fee would be one of a few bullets we'd have to dodge to keep the house up.
